Abstract: Ancient Chinese believe that their life have unbreakable relationship with trees. Therefore, one of the most distinguished features of ancient Chinese culture is that it filled fully with the figure of trees and their materials. The selection criteria of trees not only indicate the practical usefulness of the trees but also unveil the underlined religious belief attached. In other words, trees are the living material of ancient Chinese, moreover, they are also the object of religious worship. Tree worship enhances the attachment between ancient Chinese and trees, also strengthens the idea that there is the simultaneous existence of ancient Chinese and trees.
